Cab Driver Kimiko

Marina has just finished helping out at a photo festival event. She is running out of last trains.
"Oh, I'll have to take a cab tonight. What can I do?

She was thirsty after a night of drinking, so she went to a convenience store and casually got into a cab that was parked right in front of her. At that moment, a memory came back to Marina.

I got in the taxi. Did you maybe get in a taxi three years ago?"

The cab driver was a woman. Kimiko Ito. She was in her mid-sixties. Marina recalled her memory.
Three years ago, when I was going through a bad time at work, she told me about you. She told me that before she became a cab driver, she had worked as a dump truck driver for 15 years among men. She told me what it meant to be a woman working among men, and she encouraged me.
I told her.
Kimiko, a cab driver, seemed to have forgotten all about it, but gradually she began to remember.
She was riding in a dump truck," he said. Oh, I remember now. Yes, I had two boy children. I knew I couldn't let the boys get the better of me, so I worked hard. I had to do it. Have your troubles lessened since then?"
Marina continued.
She continued, "Not everything is solved again, but I think worrying is a happy thing. It means there is still room for improvement. I'm doing what I have to do now.

Kimiko nodded as she drove.
She nodded as she drove. That's fine. It's okay to be natural. It's good to know that. Go for it, go for it.

Marina continued.
I think it was already three years ago. At that time, I was going through some difficulties at the company, and it was decided that I would be fired. I thought a lot about what it meant for a woman to work alongside men. But when I heard that she had been a dump truck driver for 15 years and then a cab driver for 10 years, I felt encouraged.
Kimiko also said.
Well, you know, there are many things that happen in life," Kimiko said. There are good things and bad things. There are good times and bad times. But, you have to keep going. I used to not want to lose to men. I used to be like that too.
Kimiko looked back at the backseat.
Are you an announcer? I've seen you before. You are a very beautiful woman. Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much. You've cheered me up.

Our last conversation was the same as three years ago, but Marina continued, "You know, they say there are no coincidences in this world.
She continued, "They say there are no coincidences in this world, right? So let me give you my business card.

A woman working. That sometimes things don't work out.
But life goes on.
And if you keep at it, sometimes something good will happen.
Three years passed and they met again.

How many years will it be before they meet again?
