-ガンジーセーターとCalm days-

明けて2016年、1月は夫に三國さんの4冊めの本『編みものともだち』から、ガンジーセーターを、この時は少し大きめに、指定糸より太いブリティッシュエロイカで編んでいた。
このときは、パターンではMサイズくらいのものをLサイズとなるよう、ゲージを約1.1倍くらいで計算して編んだと記憶している。

そして、前年に知り合っていたえりさん初のパターン、Calm daysを、これはパターン通りに指定糸のBrooklyn Tweed Quarryで。
Quarryを初めて使った頃は、撚りが甘い糸のため、つよく引っぱると切れる･･･？ と思って慎重に編んでいたのですが、使うほどに虜になっていったバルキーヤーンの名品だと思います。

-私にもできるかな? -

その後、えりさんのパターンリリースに触発されたのか、私にもデザインを考えたりできるかな？ と、フリーパターンのシンプルなLovikka Mittensを、色合わせを考えながらボーダー柄で編んでみることにした。

タイトルは枕草子風になっていますが、そのボーダーアレンジをしている時、どういう風にストライプを入れるか考えることが、とてもとても楽しかったことを覚えています。

In January 2016, I knit my husband a Guernsey sweater by Mariko Mikuni, this time a little larger, with British Eroika which is a Japanese yarn, thicker than the specified yarn.
At that time, I remember that I knitted what was about a size M in the pattern, calculating the gauge to be about 1.1 times larger so that it would be a size L.

Then there was Eri's first pattern, Calm days, which I had known the previous year, and this was knit in Brooklyn Tweed Quarry, the suggested yarn in the pattern.

I used it a lot and got rid of it because it was frayed, but I want to make it again! The cuff is made of BT Quarry yarn, and the body is made of a Japanese yarn that was on sale at the time, knitted in Rich more Helsinki.

I remember that when I was arranging those stripes, I had a great, great deal of fun thinking about how to put the stripes in.
