When I was a boy I watched Astro Boy on TV. The first time was at my cabin near a lake in Canada.
子供の頃、テレビで鉄腕アトムを見た。初めて見たのはカナダの湖の近くの山小屋だった。

I like his haircut. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning I have an Astro Boy hairstyle.
私は彼の髪型が好きだ。朝起きると鉄腕アトムの髪型をしていることがある。

The first episode begins with a tragedy. Tobi, the scientist’s son, dies in an accident.
第1話は悲劇から始まる。科学者の息子であるトビオが事故で死んだのだ。

Astro Boy looks just like Tobio.　They have the same hairstyle too.
鉄腕アトムはトビオに似ている。髪型も同じだ。

‘I know it looks like your son, but it’s a robot’
「息子に似ているのはわかるが、ロボットだ」。

‘Don’t call me dad, you’re a robot!’
「パパと呼ぶな、お前はロボットだ！」！

Astro Boy wants to be a real boy.
鉄腕アトムは本当の男の子になりたい。

When he eats cake he looks happy. When his father looks away, he takes the cake out of his belly, and he looks sad.
ケーキを食べると幸せそうな顔をする。父親が目をそらすと、彼はケーキを腹から取り出し、悲しそうな顔をする。

Astro boy is a robot, but he has a heart and feelings.
鉄腕アトムはロボットだが、心と感情を持っている。鉄腕アトムはロボットだが、心と感情を持っている。

In the Japanese version, ‘Thus spake Zarathustra’ (Strauss) at the moment that Astro Boy comes to life.

The same music is also in the opening scene of Stanley Kubrick’s ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ (1968, 5 years later).
同じ音楽は、スタンリー・キューブリック監督の「2001: A Space Odyssey」（1968年、5年後で）のオープニングシーンにも使われている。
