9 O-Bon:お盆: (A lantern festival, a festival of the Dead) and Yukata: 浴衣

*7/13&8/13 is a lantern festival, a festival of the Dead, returning ancestral spirits. It also means a tray. We enjoy a Bon-dance, wearing Yukatas. In summer lots of people in Yukata are seen at summer festivals,  fireworks (花火), and the Bon Festival dance.
* Yukata(浴衣・ゆかた)is a single-layered kimono. Unlike formal kimono, which is made of silk, it is informal and usually made of light cotton. It is comfortable to wear, especially in summer evenings after taking a bath. It means 'bath clothes'. We put on geta, wooden clogs.
