１0　佐藤賢一　（1968～　）

　山形県鶴岡市生れ。東北大学大学院でフランス中世史を専攻する。1993（平成5）年、『ジャガーになった男』で、小説すばる新人賞を受賞。1999年、『王妃の離婚』で直木賞を受賞。2014年、『小説フランス革命』で毎日出版文化賞特別賞を受賞。2020（令和2）年、『ナポレオン』全三巻で、司馬遼太郎賞を受賞する。『傭兵ピエール』『双頭の鷲』『二人のガスコン』『オクシタニア』『カポネ』『女信長』『新徴組』『ラ・ミッション 軍事顧問ブリュネ』『ハンニバル戦争』『ファイト』『遺訓』など、多数の著書がある。

10 　Ken-ichi Sato 　(1968～)

　　　Born in Tsuruoka city, in Yamagata prefecture. He majored in French medieval history at Tohoku University, Graduate School. In 1993 (Heisei 5), he won the Novel Subaru Rookie of the Year Award for "The Man Who Became a Jaguar". In 1999, he won the Naoki Prize for "The Queen's Divorce". In 2014, he won the Mainichi Publishing Culture Award Special Award for "Novel French Revolution". In 2020 (Reiwa 2), he won the Shiba Ryotaro Prize for all three volumes of "Napoleon". He published "Mercenary Pierre", "A Double-headed Eagle", "Two Gascons", "Occitania", "Capone", "A Woman Nobunaga", "Shinchogumi", "La Mission Military Advisor Brunet", "The Hannibal War", "Fight", "A Collection of Lessons", and many more books.

・「「ええ、あの西郷隆盛が、今や叛徒、朝敵ですからね」
　　大々的に打ち出すのは、憚られる。それでも庄内鶴岡の人たちなら、『南洲翁遺訓』を完成させるだろう。のみならず、いついつまでも読み継いで、十年後か二十年後か、それが五十年後、百年後であったとしても、必ずや広く世に問うだろう。」（佐藤賢一『遺訓』P.424）

　また、若者に名言を送っています。

・ダメでもともと。何事も動かなくちゃ始まらない。
・誰だって、負けるのは嫌いです。でも、負けがないってことは、勝ちもないってことです。
・一〇〇回負けてもいいんですよ。一回でも勝ったら取り戻せますから。
・負けていた時期が、今、肥やしになっているんです。

<Ken-ichi Sato’s Wise Sayings＞

・ "Yes, that Saigo Takamori is now a rebel and an Emperor’s enemy ." It is regrettable to launch it in a big way. Still, if they are the people of Shonai・Tsuruoka, they will complete the “Saigo Nanshuo Ikun”. Not only that, they will continue to read it forever, ten years or twenty years later, even if it  50 years or 100 years later, it will surely ask the world widely.“ （"A Collection of Lessons" P.424)

　　　He also sends wise sayings to young people.

・ Originally no good is OK. If you don’t move, everything doesn't start.
・ Everyone hates losing. But not losing means not winning.
・ You can lose 100 times. If you win even once, you can get it back.
・ The time when you were defeated becomes fertilizer in your life.
