Hi, I'm pipi☺︎
Starting today, I will introduce my creation story over the next few days. For the first time in my life, I was able to complete a story. This is also my first experience translating a story written in Japanese.
This is a poor work by an amateur, but please enjoy it.

I wish you a happy birthday.

When they hear the bell, Ernie and his colleagues begin work. Ernie opened his red book he cherishes. This book contains the name of the person celebrating their birthday today, where they live, and what has happened to them recently. Ernie and his colleagues work to make the day someone is born the most special day of the year. Every day is someone's birthday, so it's a very busy but rewarding job. Ernie is very proud to do this work. Ernie have been doing this job for so long that he doesn't even know how long I've been doing it.

Today is a little special day for Ernie. Starting today, He will be in charge of teaching new colleagues how to work here. It's been a long time since Ernie was taught a job by a senior. Ernie hasn't seen the person who taught him everything about the job in a long time.

As Ernie was cleaning the red sled he rides to work, he hears a not-so-cheerful voice behind him.

“Thank you for your help starting today.”

There was an old man standing there with his back hunched over with a sad expression on his face. From today onwards, this old man will be Ernie's partner. ``He's kind of unreliable,'' Ernie said to himself. Ernie spoke to the old man cheerfully, thinking that he would look even more anxious if he knew that he was thinking about such things

"Nice to meet you, I'm Ernie. Let's do our best together. Mr., you're wearing a nice poncho. From today on, I'll call you Poncho. It seems like you're curious as to why. The reason is simplicity. We both use our real names, so we need to
have nicknames."
You want to know why don't we call each other by our real names, don't you?
I don't really know why, but maybe it's because I enjoy my job that way. ”

When Ernie talked a lot, Poncho smiled a little. Ernie is also happy and begins to teach Poncho everything about his favorite job.

本日から数日かけて私の創作ストーリーをご紹介していきます。生まれて初めて物語を完成させることができました。日本語で書かれた小説を翻訳するのも初めての経験です。素人の拙い作品ですが楽しんでください。

I wish you a happy birthday.

ベルの音が聞こえたら、アーニーたちのお仕事が始まります。アーニーは大事な一冊の赤い本を開きました。この本には今日誕生日をむかえる誰かの名前や住んでいるところ、最近その人に起こった出来事などが書かれています。アーニーたちは誰かが生まれた日を一年のうちで一番スペシャルな日にするお手伝いをしています。毎日が誰かの誕生日で、とっても忙しい、でもやりがいのあるお仕事です。アーニーはこのお仕事をしていることをとても誇らしく思っています。もうどのくらいこのお仕事を続けているのかわからないくらいに長く働いています。

そんなアーニーにとって今日は少し特別な日です。今日から新しくここで働くことになった仲間にお仕事を教える係を任されたのです。アーニーがお仕事を教えてもらったのはもうずっとずっと前のこと。あの時アーニーにお仕事のあれこれを教えてくれた人とは、もうずっと長い間会っていません。

アーニーがお仕事をするときに乗る赤いソリのお手入れをしていると、後ろから小さくぽそぽそした声が聞こえました。

「今日からお世話になります。」

そこにはなんだか悲しそうな顔で背中を丸めて立っているおじいさんがいました。今日からこのおじいさんがアーニーのパートナーになるのです。なんだか心配だなあ、とアーニーは心の中でつぶやきました。そんなことを考えているのが分かったら、おじいさんはもっと不安そうな顔になってしまう、そう思ってアーニーは明るく声をかけてみました。

「はじめまして、ぼくはアーニー。今日から宜しくね。おじいさん、素敵なポンチョを着ているね、今日から君のことポンチョって呼ぶことにするよ。え、どうしてかって？ここではお互いをあだ名で呼ぶことになっているんだ。理由はそうだな、僕もよく分からないのだけれどその方が楽しく働けるからかもしれないね。」

アーニーがたくさん話しているとポンチョも少し笑顔になってくれました。アーニーもうれしくなってきて、さっそく大好きなお仕事についていろんなことをポンチョに教え始めました。
