①やっとカギを見つけ出しました。
A: I found out my key.
B: I found my key.
②やっと答えがわかったよ・・
A: I figured out the answer.
B: I figured the answer.

find と figure の違いがちゃんとわかっている人は少ない！

①　find    と    find out
日本人は　find out   で「〜を見つけ出す」と思っている人が多いですが、誤りです。
find  が　物や人を見つける・見つけ出すです。
〇  I finally found my key.   　　「やっとカギを見つけ出した」
✖   I finally found out my key. 　この文は間違っています・・・
※ find out  は　人・モノを見つけ出すという意味はないのです「情報を得た・知った」
I found out his address.   I found out his phone number.  I found out his secret.
※ I found out my brother at last. などと言ってしまうと・・
　ついに弟の本性がわかった　　　と聞こえます。

②   figure   と   figure out
I figured out the answer. 〇「答がわかった」　とは言いますが・・
I figured the answer.  ✖       とは言いません。
※ figure 目的語　の形は普通使われません

但し・・
I figured that S + V   の形はよく使われます。
I figured that it was cold this winter.    that 以下だと判断する・想像する

I figured out that S + V   は  I found out that  S + V  とよく似ていて
I figured out that he lived there. =  I found out that he lived there. 
「彼がそこに住んでいるとわかった」
※いろいろ調べた感じが figure out の方が強い
