The festival decided to remove the statue after it received “terror threats” by telephone and email, Aichi Governor Hideaki Omura told a news conference on Saturday.
“Yesterday we also received a fax saying, ‘Get rid of it fast or else I’m going to bring a can of gasoline and cause some trouble,’” Omura said.

Japanese government keeps trying to make people to ignore the historical comfort women problem between Japan and Korea, so the threats against the exhibition of the comfort woman statures implicitly accord with the gov's course. I'm afraid the blackmailer would not be arrested for unknown reason, and only the politically convenient threats remain in Japan.
