Economist誌にBartlebyを比喩的に出してくるコラムがあってびっくりした。どうもfinalventさんの読書会の課題図書である『バートルビー』が寓喩となっているコラム群がEconomist誌にあるらしい。偶然の一致というやつか、読んだコラムにはトーマス・マンのブッデンブローグ家の人々も取り上げられていて(finalventさんの読書会ではトーマス・マンの『トニオ・クレーゲル』を取り上げていてこれも偶然の一致)、いわゆる「ファミリービジネス」「同族企業」についての記事だった。

欧米のビジネスマンっていうのは意外と人文系の教養に強い人が多い気がする。人文系と言ってももちろんヨーロッパの人文系だが。日本のビジネスマンでは漢籍を散りばめる人ってあんまり見かけないなあ。そういう人は嫌われるのかも。それより酒とゴルフか。
