コンセプトが面白いですね。今までsukekiyoはシングルやライブトラックを８センチCDで何回か出したことがありましたが、カセットテープでデモ "テープ" をリリースするのは初めてです。さすがsukekiyo。いつも可能な限り、ユニークな方法で音楽を作っていますね。最近の音楽で使われている、80年代のノスタルジアさとインダストリアルさが混ざり合った音で、今作のカセットテープのリリースにぴったりです。加えて色も緑色ですし、 前面には裸婦像がいます。

Until now, sukekiyo has released several 8cm CDs with limited edition live takes or singles, but this time they actually produced a demo “tape” on a real cassette. That’s sukekiyo for you, always experimenting in any unique way possible. With the 80s nostalgia and industrial elements they've been playing around with recently, the climate is perfect for releasing a cassette tape. A green one. With a naked woman on the front.

2019年12月のROCK AND READインタビューで、京さんは最近マドンナの80年代のアルバムをよく聴いており、好きになったと言っていました。それで、どうやって音楽に落とし込んでいくか考えたそう。具体的には、その時代の「チープな」プログラミングに基づいて、懐かしい音を傚うというスタイルです。

Kyo stated that he has recently started to enjoy listening to Madonna's older music in the December 2019 issue of ROCK AND READ. Specifically, he said that he wishes to emulate a style of programming reminiscent of the era, that kind of "cheap" sound identifiable with 80s music.

サイドAは「接触」です。エレクトリックビートとシンセ、そして京さんが示した80年代のプログラミングは、インダストリアル雰囲気を与えています。京さんは2019年に出した「INFINITUM」と同じように、アグレッシブな囁きや唸り声を伴って歌っていますが、この曲のコーラスの中に展開された彼のシャウトは、コーラスのような歌声の上に重ねられており、Dir en greyの「Deity」を思い出させ新しい要素を加えていますね。

Side A consists of the demo「接触」. Electric beats, synths, and that style of 80s programming Kyo mentioned give it a real industrial kind of atmosphere. Kyo's vocals follow a similar pattern to that found on "Infinitum", with edgy whispering and growls, but the way his shouts in the chorus are layered over his choir-like singing add a new element, something that reminded me of Dir en grey's 「Deity」.

サイドBはほとんど無音ですが、最後に「Valentina」の短くアップテンポの詩があります。

Side B is mostly silent, but at the very end, there is a short, uptempo verse of 「Valentina」.

sukekiyoファンの中で、いったいどれほどの人がカセットテーププレイヤーを持っているでしょうか？または、このデモテープが出るという告知の後、何人が買いに行ったのでしょうか？

I wonder how many sukekiyo fans actually have tape players? Or how many fans went out looking for one when they heard the news that a cassette tape demo would be released?
