Hello !!

My name is Katsuhiko Murata, director of Poetry Slam Japan. We launched the Japanese poetry slam championship in 2015 and have held competitions five times since then. The event is growing steadily, and we have been sending representatives to Paris for the Poetry World Cup annually.


Last year, Yuuri Miki won the National Competition for Poetry Slam Japan. It is her second consecutive year as winner, and she was also our first woman champion.

She was well received in Paris, and has since been invited to several other international poetry events, including a recent appearance in Russia. We would like to introduce her talent to the world.

Of course, we can introduce various Japanese poets besides her. If you might be interested in inviting some Japanese poets to a poetry slam or Poetry Festival in your country or region, please let us know.

Unfortunately, we don't have much budget. So we would need to discuss how to raise the money...some grant, or other ideas. If there is any way you could assist with hosting or anything like that, we can help in other ways. We have translators to help prepare manuscripts or powerpoints, and we can send samples of the work.
