ラカンの精神分析などを持ち出して白人の男たちが作り上げた「人種差別的ステレオタイプ」を理由にしているがそうではない。本当の理由はそのイメージが事実だからで、白人の男たちは冤罪である。

In the white imagination, Asian American masculinity symbolizes what white men fear about being less “masculine” than Black males. That is, that societal power may come at the cost of sexual power. The model minority Asian American male might become a doctor or lawyer or engineer, but he can’t get the girl.

デートアプリのビッグデータ分析からは、男はアジア人、女は黒人がモテないことが判明しているが、これは"女←中性→男"とすると、アジア人の分布は左に偏り、黒人の分布は右に偏っているためと考えられる。アジア人の男は男らしさが不足し、黒人の女は女らしさが不足するので、異性からモテないわけである。逆に、アジア人の女はよりfeminineになるのでモテやすくなる。

“Society tells us that black women are hypersexual but also more masculine than other women, while it suggests that Asian men are less masculine — to the point of being effeminate — and that they are physically less attractive,” says Shantel Buggs, a PhD Candidate in sociology at the University of Texas. 

Sexual narratives about Asian women suggest that they will not challenge a man’s masculinity the way that other women of colour might. So, they become idealized due to being considered very sexual but also very feminine.

この研究者は美の基準が白人中心になっていることを原因としているが、アジア人の男は黒人や白人に比べて肉体的に貧弱であることで十分に説明できる。アメリカンフットボールやラグビー、ボクシングのヘビー級を見れば、そのことは明らかだろう。性的パワーでも黒人や白人に劣ることは歴然としている。ステレオタイプの多くは事実の反映である。

雌猿が強い雄猿を好むように、人間の女も「強い」男を好むので、他の条件が等しければ、性的・肉体的に劣るアジア人の男は最も不利になる。これがアジア人の男が"can’t get the girl"になる簡単な理由である。

もっとも、学力は肉体的強さと逆。
