George and Allie's Lawn Service

<narrator>
When George came to the country, he loved to visit the Renkins farm.
ジョージは田舎に来るとレンキンス農場へ遊びに行きます。

And his favorite thing at the farm...was Mr. Renkins' big red tractor.
何より楽しみなのは、レンキンスさんの大きな赤いトラクターに乗ること。

<Allie>
Hi, Grandpa ! Hi, Ulysses. Oh. Hey, George. You wanna meet our new kids?
ジョージ、おじいちゃん、ユリシス、ごきげんよう。ジョージうちの赤ちゃん見ない？
See? These are our kids !
見て、この子たちが赤ちゃん！

<Mr. Renkins>
"Kid" is what you call a baby goat.
子供とはヤギの子の事だ。
Oh. Look at that. they chewed right through the latch.
これを見て、ラッチをかみ切られた。

<Allie>
This one's Suzie, and this is Sammy.
こっちがスージーでこっちがサミーよ。

<narrator>
George thought he'd solve the goat problem once and for all. but the goats thought differently.
ジョージはここに入れとけば子ヤギたちはどこにも逃げないそう思っていました。しかし、子ヤギたちは違った考えをしました。

<Allie>
Oh, no ! Where'd they go this time ?
今度はどこに行ってしまったの？

<Mr. Renkins>
Have fun.
楽しんでね。

<narrator>
George was going to make sure that this time... Sammy and Suzie couldn't escape.
ジョージは今度はスージーとサミーは逃げられないことを確認した。
Wrong again. But how were they getting out ? it was a mystery.
また違う、どうやって外に出たんでしょう。まさに謎です。

<The Man with the Yellow Hat>
Uh, you two better take the goats back home.
二人はその子たちを連れて帰ったほうがよい。
 I think your grandpa might be planning to give them away.
おじいちゃんはどこかよその家にあげるつもりだと思う。

<Allie>
Oh, it's too bad Grandpa's given the goats away... just 'cause they eat stuff.
なんでも食べちゃうってだけで、この子たちをどこかにやるなんておじいちゃんひどいよ。
Nobody's perfect. I mean, look at Ulysses. He's stubborn. But Grandpa's not giving him away.
完璧な人なんていない。ユリシスを見てよ。頑固じゃない。でもユリシスの事はよそにやらない。

<narrator>
Allie was right. Ulysses was stubborn, but he was also useful.
アリーの言う通り、ユリシスは頑固です。でもちゃんと役にも立ってます。
Sammy and Suzie would be useful once they could give milk.
子ヤギたちも乳が出るようになれば便利だけど、
If only there were a way they could be useful now.
今役に立つ方法があれば。

<Allie>
Suzie ! Sammy ! Careful, George ! Poison ivy !
スージー！サミー！駄目よジョージ！ツタウルシが！

<narrator>
Poison ivy ? And the goats were eating it !!
ツタウルシを食べています！
 Would they get a rash in their bellies ?
この子たちはお腹に発疹ができるのでしょうか？

<The Man with the Yellow Hat>
Well, they say goats have cast-iron stomachs.
ヤギは胃袋は鉄のように強いって言うし、
 I guess they can eat anything.
何でも食べられるのか。

<narrator>
George might have found a way for the kids to be useful.
ジョージは子ヤギたちが役に立つ方法を見つけたかもしれません。

<Mr. Renkins>
Oh, hi, George. Say, where are Allie and the goats ?
なんだジョージアリーと子ヤギたちはどこだ？

<Allie>
Grandpa, look at Sammy and Suzie.
おじいちゃんサミーとスジ―を見て。

<Mr. Renkins>
Well, I'll be ! They're clearing my field ! 
これは驚いた、畑を掃除してくれている。

<Allie>
George figured out a way for them to be useful like Ulysses.
ジョージは子ヤギがユリシスみたいに役に立つ方法だって。
They can eat poison ivy. They rip it right out by the roots.
ツタウルシを食べるだけじゃなく根っこまで取ってくれるんだよ。

<Mr. Renkins>
What do you know ? Hey ! I can plow this field now.
わからないもんだな、そうだ！ここの畑を耕すことができる。
 I could plant alfalfa, or bean sprouts. Rutabagas !
牛のえさになるものを植えよう、もやし？いやカブを植えよう！
Mmm ! Thanks, Sammy. you too, Suzie.
ありがとうサミー、スジ―。

<man>
Hey, Renkins ! is that goat eatin' your poison ivy ?
やあ、レンキンス。ツタウルシそこのヤギたちが食べたのか？

<Mr. Renkins>
She sure is. They love it !
そうだ、この子たちの大好物だ！

<Allie>
They're clearing Grandpa's field for him.
この子たちはうちの畑を掃除してくれてるの。

<man>
I got some poison ivy needs clearin' out too.
うちもツタウルシも掃除する必要があってな、
Can I borrow em (them) ?
ヤギ貸してもらえるか？

<Allie>
You bet, mister !
もちろんいいわよ。

<narrator>
And that's how George and Allie's lawn Service was born. 
こうして、ジョージとアリーの芝刈りサービスが生まれた。
Best of all, George and Allie's lawn mowers didn't need gas.
何より二人の芝刈り機はガソリンを必要としません。
