For this page, I will introduce about my favorite anime and Japanese culture.

"Fruit Basket"

For the first post, I will introduce about "Fruit Basket"!!

This anime is also one of the famous Japanese comic book and was written by "Natuki Takaya". 

<Time series>
1998-2006 The comic books were serialized at "Hana-to-Yume" magazine. 
                       Volume 1-23 had been published.
2001 First anime was broadcasted.
2019 The first series of second anime was rebroadcasted. (episode 25)
2020 The second series was broadcasted.(episode 25)
2021 The final series was broadcasted. (episode 13)

<Introduction>
"Toru Honda", who lost her parents, was living alone in a tent. However, the place where Toru was living is Souma family's ground and she started living with her classmates "Yuki Souma" and "Kyo Souma". Although, Souma family has a big secret… When they hug / hold to opposite  gender or become weak, they transform into possessed animals! Toru and Souma family struggle to break the curse and develop a love for each other. ❤️

Main Characters

Toru Honda

She is the main character of this anime. Her dad was passed away when she was a child and her mom was also died by car accident. Sometime she is goofy and misguided, but always dedicated and kind-hearted.

Yuki Souma

He is one of the Toru's classmates and everybody calls him "prince". He is good at both studying and playing sports, so a fan club exist in a school. He changed to mouse.

Kyo Souma

He is also a classmate, but he used to train in the mountain because he wanted to defeat Yuki as a rival. He is short-tempered, but kind at heart. He changed to cat, but he is out of his league in the zodiac.

What is zodiac (Eto-干支)?

Eto was told from China and the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac are the names of the twelve animals that are assigned to each year. This year is dragon year in Japan. Also, each person has their own signs of zodiac. For example, I'm cow!

Each Souma family members have their own zodiac and change them.

Also, in Japan, when adults teach the order of zodiac to children, they always use funny story.

One day, God told the animals, "On New Year's morning, the first animal to arrive at his place, followed by the twelfth, shall be the leader of the year for one year.
The cow left early because he was a slow walker and was the first to arrive. However, a mouse was actually riding on the cow's back, and just before the cow reached the goal, it passed through God's gate and became the first one.
The order of the Chinese zodiac, starting with the mouse, is the order of the animals that reached God. The cat was tricked by the mouse into giving him the date one day late, and he still chases the mouse around angrily.
