献血について書いているときに、ふと思い出したことがあります。読者の方は、「社会鍋」という言葉を聞かれたことがあるでしょうか。私も、ある時まで名前は聞いたことがあるものの、実物を見ることはありませんでした。詳しくは、救世軍のサイト　https://www.salvationarmy.or.jp/acticvity/xmas-kttleを見てみてください（タイトル写真も、ここから引用しています）。

もう何十年も前のクリスマスの時期に、東京の銀座を歩いていて、この「社会鍋」を見かけて、いくらかの寄付をしました。名前の通り、寄付する人は、鍋にお金を入れるのでした。
『あの病気』の感染が拡大している今は、ユニセフやあしなが育英会と同様に、街頭募金もままならないようです。今は「社会鍋」にオンラインでの寄付もできるようになっています。

私は気まぐれなので、臨時収入があったりしたときにいくばくかのお金を寄付します。今までの寄付先はあしなが育英会とユニセフだけでしたが、社会鍋もその時は忘れないようにしたいと思います。

CHRISTMAS KETTLE

Decades ago, at Christmas time, I was walking in Ginza, Tokyo, and saw this "CHRISTMAS KETTLE" and made some donations. As the name suggests, the person who donates puts money in the pot.
Now that the infection of "that disease" is spreading, it seems that street fundraising will not be possible, as is the case with UNICEF and Ashinaga Ikueikai. Now you can also donate online to the "CHRISTMAS KETTLE".

I'm capricious, so I donate some money when I have extra income. Until now, the only recipients of donations were Ashinaga Ikueikai and UNICEF, but I would like to remember "CHRISTMAS KETTLE"  at that time.
