歩道を歩くときも自転車に用心しないといけない気がしている
近所で、自転車の専用レーンがある道路はほんの一部分しかない。
バスに乗っていると、時折、自転車が、バスと歩道の間の狭い隙間を走っている。
そういうのを見ると、自転車の多くが歩道を通るのも仕方がないと思ったりする。
しかし、歩道を歩いていて、かなりの速度で走る自転車に追い越されるとヒヤッとする。
また、前から自転車と人が進んできて、私と三重になることがまれにある。そういう時はついていないと思う。
歩道を何人かが歩いているとき、自転車を降りて、押して歩く人はあまり見ない。
道路交通法上、自転車は軽車両と位置づけられています。したがって、歩道と車道の区別のあるところは車道通行が原則です。
私は徒歩で中学校に通っていたが、多くの学生が自転車で通学していた。
安全教育という名目で、いくつかのカンカンを並べて、その間を自転車でジグザグ走行させられたことがある。
自転車通学している生徒の自転車を借りてやったのだが、ハンドルがガタガタで、うまくカーブを曲がれず、カンカンを一個倒してしまった。
その時、自転車で左折や右折するときの手信号も教わった。
ここ何十年も、そのようなしぐさをする自転車乗りをほとんど見ていない。
今はもう学校で教えていないのだろうか？

When several people are walking on the sidewalk, I have hardly seen someone get off their bicycle and push it along.
According to the Road Traffic Act, bicycles are considered light vehicles. Therefore, in areas where there is a distinction between sidewalks and roads, bicycles must ride on the road.
I walked to junior high school, but many students commuted by bicycle. In the name of safety education, we students were forced to ride a bicycle in a zigzag pattern between several rows of can-cans. I borrowed a bicycle from a student who commutes to school by bicycle, but the handlebar was so shaky that I couldn't turn the curve properly and knocked over one of the boat boats.
At that time, we learned the hand signals for turning left and right on a bicycle. I have hardly seen a cyclist make such a gesture in decades. Is it no longer taught in schools?
