先週の土日、チンギスハン像の南側、モンゴルのUnimedia Solutions LLCの社員旅行。ウランバートルからバスで3時間くらい。ちょっとしたcountry side にて、ゲルで一晩明した。

山に囲まれた盆地の中。大きくて、でも何もない、草だけの山がひたすら広がってて、どこまでも続いてそうな空。手に取れそうなくらい、近い雲。ボールを投げたら、本当に届いてしまいそうなくらい。

その大自然。必死にカメラを回して。。。切りなく続いていく山。写真にすると、なんか足りない。なんか違う。

写真にすると、バランスが問われてしまう。芸術性が問われてしまう。

変化なく、ただただ同じように連なっている山々。一定で、安定していて、だからこそ美しいのに。それでも、2Dの写真の中でバランスを加えようとして、でも、それはただの虚構の美しさで。そのままの美しさを写しきれなくて。

単純に私の技術が足りないだけ。
でも、その空間にいるからこそ、その風景のすべての要素が絡み合っているからこそ、美しいと感じた。これは否定できない。

視覚から取り入れられる美しさって、その環境する数々のものの、ほんの一部でしかなくって。だからこそ、カメラには収めきれない。伝えきれない。。。

2日目は、カメラは一切使わずに過ごしてしまった。
でも、そっちの方が気が楽だった。自分は本当にその自然の中にいるのだと、実感した。

Last weekend, at a little country side right in the south of chinggis khan statue with the company I do an internship in.

Surrounded by mountains in basin, the sky seemed to continue like FOREVER. And the mountains with only green grass and nothing else. The smoothness of their slope seeped through the landscape, enfolding the plains and the gers we stayed at.

I held my camera tight, committed to catch the beauty from every single view I could. However, the thing is, it didn't work in 2D. The pictures seemed flat with just plain scape of mountains continuing like nothing.

We felt the beauty and the beauty really existed. But it was only because we were actually part of the environment. It was because we were actually in it. The wind, the sky, the air. Just EVERYTHING. Everything seemed to construct the beauty of the place and without anything else, the view wasn't enough to duplicate the environment into the camera screen.

It might have been simply because I didn't have enough photography skills. But without my camera on the second day, I felt a lot more like I was part of the environment. I felt every bit of beauty of the environment soak in to myself, making me feel alive; that I was actually LIVING in the environment and FEELING the air, the wind, the sky, and everything constructing the beauty of the nature.
