小学一年生は、「愛を教えてくれる先生」だと思って毎日接しています。

金曜日の昨日、一人の女の子が私をチラチラみていることに気がついていたので、目が合うたびにニッコリ笑顔返しをしていました。

しばらくしたら、トコトコ、っと私のところに来て、モジモジしながら「これ、書いたのあげる」って小さな紙に「I LOVE YOU」と書いたお手紙を手渡ししてくれました。

ありがとう〜ってギューっとハグして受け取って、その後時間のある時に、お礼も込めて紙風船を作ってプレゼントしました。

そしたら、嬉しそうにぎゅーっと握りしめて席に戻り、その日の終わる頃に、ウサギの塗り絵とメッセージを書いたノートのプレゼントをもらいました。

今週末は、レポート書いたり頭の整理に使おうと思っていますが、まずはクラス全員の紙風船を作ることにして、今色紙を出してるところです。

Every day, I get to spend time with these amazing first graders who teach me so much about love.

Yesterday, on Friday, I caught one of the girls looking at me, so I made sure to smile back every time our eyes met.

Eventually, she walked over to me, a little hesitant, and handed me a small piece of paper with "I LOVE YOU" written on it. She said, "Here, I made this for you," while nervously playing with her fingers.

I couldn't help but give her a big hug and say, "Thank you."

Later, when I had a moment, I decided to make paper balloons as a token of appreciation and gave them to her as a surprise gift.

As the day came to a close, I was touched to receive a coloring book full of rabbits and a notebook with a heartfelt message.

I plan to use the notebook this weekend to jot down some reports and clear my mind, but first things first—I'm grabbing some colored paper to make paper balloons for the whole class.

It's moments like these that remind me how special each day with these kiddos truly is.
