蝶の戯れ
The Butterfly's Play

紅藤は逃げる事なく城の奥から現れた。
全ての敵を退けてここまでたどり着いた私たちを見ても、怯むこともなく優雅に笑みを浮かべている。

『ああなんだ、つまらない。』

紅藤はそう呟く。

『せっかくこの世界の中で楽しんでいたと言うのに、ゲームが終わってしまった。』

貴方にはわかるでしょう？と紅藤は私の顔を見る。

『だってここは全てがまやかしの世界。全てが幻の夢の世界。
そこで何が起ころうと、それが一体なんだと言うの。』

紅藤はここがゲームの中だという事を言っている様だった。
何故それを知っているのだろう。
彼女はシステム上のキャラクターなのか、私と同じ人間なのか。

Benifuji  emerged from the depths of the castle without running away.
Even though she saw us, who had defeated all the enemies and reached this point, she was not intimidated and smiled gracefully.

"Oh, what a bore.

Benifuji muttered to herself.

"I was having so much fun in this world, and now the game is over."

You understand, don't you? She looked at my face.

"It's a world of illusion. It's all a dream world.
No matter what happens there, what the hell is going on?"

She seemed to be saying that we were in a game.
I don't know how she knows that.
I'm not sure if she's a character in the system or a human being like me.

他の仲間が私たちの会話が理解できないと言った表情で紅藤と私の顔を交互に見つめているのが判る。

何をどうすればいいのかわからず言葉に詰まっていると、不意に久郎衛くろえが前に歩み出てきて言葉を発した。

I could see that the rest of the group was staring at Benifuji and me alternately, as if they couldn't understand our conversation.

I was at a loss for words, not knowing what to do, when suddenly Kuroe stepped forward and spoke up.

『ここは架空の世界かもしれないけれど、その中で皆生きています。
　それぞれが個性を持ち、強い意志の力を持ち、プログラムでは説明ができない自由な心で生きています。

　そして単なるキャラクターの一人である貴方には、その人たちを、この世界を、どうこうする権限はあたえられていません。』

"This may be an imaginary world, but everyone lives in it.
　Each of us has an individuality, a strong will power, and a free spirit that cannot be explained by a program.

　And you, as a mere character, are not empowered to do anything about them or this world."

久郎衛の口からプログラムと言う言葉が出て、私は絶句した。

久郎衛もこのゲームのキャラクターの一人だったのではないのだろうか？
だって私は〝ＦＵＮＤＯＳＨＩ ＦＡＮＴＡＳＹ〟をスタートした時に彼を操作していたのだから。

When the word "program" came out of Kuroe's mouth, I was stunned.

『私はシステムの一つの機能であり、観測者でした。
