さて、今日は最近の読書習慣についてお話しします。
Okay, in today's episode, I would like to talk about my morning reading habit. 

以前は、電車・バスで通勤していたのでその通勤時間に本を読んでいたんです。ざっくり1時間くらいは読書時間が確保できていたと思います。
I used to commute to work by bus or train, so I had time for reading while commuting. So I was able to read 1 hour a day at least. 

ただ、最近、車通勤に変えたのでやはり、読書する時間が確保できなくなってしまいました。
（車通勤の方が通勤時間は短いんですが、早くついたところで、読書以外のことをしてしまうんですよね。家事とか）
However, I changed my commuting style to car rather than public transportation. So it was difficult for me to maintain my reading time. 
I mean although my commuting time became shorter, I would do some extra tasks such as house choirs and so on. 

そこで、最近は朝イチで本を読むようにしています。
So I decided to read immediately after waking up. 

朝イチの理由はすごくシンプルで、
「言い訳できないようにするため」です
The reason is quite simple. I do not give any opportunity to make excuses for myself. 

これは以前知り合いのおじさんにいただいたアドバイスなんですよ。
なんでも、やりたいことや、やった方がいいことは朝イチでやりなさいと。
This is advice from someone who has experience of life. 
He said "If I want something extra or something I think it would be better to do, you should do at the very beginning of the day. "

例えば、英語学習したいなぁってフワッと思っているとするじゃないですか。
でも、「英語の勉強」という予定を仕事終わりや、午後に入れてしまうと、「あ、今日残業になっちゃったからできないや」とか
「今日は疲れたからやめよう」とか、
いろいろ言い訳しちゃってやらなくなってしまうとのことだったんです。
For example, when you would like to study and learn English, however, if you put the plan in the afternoon or after you finish working, you could say "I can't study English as I need to stay at work to complete the task", or "I am exhausted today, so I deserve to take a rest". 
Yeah, you can make excuses as much as you can and end up not starting the things you wanted to, in this case studying English 

確かにそうだな思って。
I think it does make sense. 

自分のモチベーションそのものを保つことも大事なんですが、
外部の力によって（残業とか）自分がやりたいことができなくなる時ってあるじゃないですか。
Of course, when you start something new, keeping your motivation itself is important. However, something beyond your control makes you not have enough time or energy to do it. 

私も、言い訳してやらなくなっちゃう人間なので、
なるべく「やった方がいい」ってわかっていることは朝イチにしています。
掃除でも、英語でも、読書でも。
I am the type of person who makes excuses and avoids things I should put effort into. 
So in order to deal with my personality, I try to get something good done at the very beginning of the day. This is not only reading but also studying English or cleaning. 

朝イチにやると、なんか今日自分いいことしてるわ　という気持ちにもなるので自己肯定感も上がるっていうんですかねぇ。
1日が気持ち良くスタートできるっていうのもこの朝イチ週間が続く理由なのかもしれません。
Also, I feel good when I get everything I want to do done in the morning. I mean I feel I could improve my self-esteem. 
Starting your day with a good feeling might be also the key to continuing to be a morning person. 

とりあえず今は、朝イチ読書をとりあえず続けているという話でした。
So, in this episode, I was talking about how I start my day by reading.

そんなわけで今日のエピソードでお伝えしたかったことは
So the things that I wanted to talk about are covered in three. 
 
1：朝イチ読書をしています
I start my day by reading. 
　
2：自分に言い訳を作らない仕組みづくり　の一環ですかね
It is sort of the system for me not to make an excuse to avoid maintaining a good habit. 
　
3：朝読書すると1日が気持ち良く始められるのでおすすめです。
Reading in the morning makes you feel better, so I highly recommend it! 
　
という3つでした。

今日の小噺
　
someone who has experience of life. 
知り合いのおじさんってなんて訳すか悩んだんですよねぇ。
ざっくりいうと「偉いおじさん」というニュアンスを伝えたかったんですが、日本語って便利ですよね。
おじさんという言葉だけで、人生の先輩感が出つつ親近感も出るというか。
今回は、いま、申し上げた通り「人生の先輩」ということがメインだったのでsomeone who has experience of lifeって訳してみました。
 
I deserve to take a rest
「今日やらなくていいやー」ってI don't have to do itって訳したくなるんですが、いや、言い訳感が出ないなぁと思って。
deserveという単語を使ってみました。
deserveという言葉自体に言い訳のニュアンスが出るわけではないんですが、
「私頑張ったもの。だから休んでもいいわ」という許可のようなニュアンスが入るかなぁと思って、deserveにしてみました。
