日本でもユースケ・サンタマリアさんと、菅野美穂さんが出演してドラマ化されていたけど、こちらも名作。

「アルジャーノンに花束を」を読了した。

ページ数が多かったので読み応えがあった。

パン屋で働くチャーリー・ゴードンは、30歳を過ぎても幼児並の知能しかもっていない。
Charlie Gordon who is working for a bakery has intelligence as well as an infant, even if he is over 30 years old.
Charlie Gordon, qui travaille dans une boulangerie, est aussi intelligent qu'un enfans. Mais il a 30 ans.

パン屋の同僚は、いつもチャーリーをからかっているが、純粋で温かい心の持ち主であるチャーリーは笑っている。
Coworkers always make fun of Charlie, but he returns them with laughing because he is pure and courteous.
Les collègues se moquent toujours de Charlie, mais il leur répond en riant parce qu'il est pur et courtois.

大学の研究により、天才的な知能を得たマウス、アルジャーノンにも迷路を解く競争では負けてばかり。
Charlie is always beaten to solve mazes by Algernon which is a genius mouse. Researchers in university made Algernon genius by a special operation.
Charlie est toujours battu dans les labyrinthes par Algernon qui est une souris géniale. Des chercheurs de l'université ont fait d'Algernon un génie grâce à une opération spéciale. 

しかし、チャーリーは他の精神遅滞を持つ患者とは異なり、学習意欲に優れていた。
Charlie is different from other patients who have also mind delay at the point of learning desire.
Charlie est différent des autres patients qui ont également un retard mental au point du souhait d'apprentissage.

ある日、大学の研究者はアルジャーノンに施した脳の手術をチャーリーにも実施する。
One day, researchers decide to give Charlie a brain operation which is same of Algernon's.
Un jour, des chercheurs décident de faire à Charlie une opération du même type que celle d'Algernon.

手術により天才的な知能を得たチャーリーは、多分野で世界でも有数の科学者へと短期間で成長し、世界中の注目を集める。
As a result, Charlie gets tremendous intelligence. He becomes one of the greatest scientists in the world in no time at all. He is active in many fields and is watched by all the world with interest.

この研究領域は、「アルジャーノン・ゴードン効果」と名付けられ、チャーリー自身もこの研究に傾倒していく。
This research field is called 'Algernon-Gordon effect'. Finally, Charlie devotes himself to research this effect.

しかし、この効果には重大な欠点がある事を、チャーリー自身が発見する事になってしまう。
However, Charlie discovers the serious problem of this effect by himself.

チャーリーの苦悩と成長を描き、生きていく上で何が大切なのかを問われる作品です。
This story tells us Charlie's agony and progress, and asks what the essential thing is in the human life.

次は原書で読みたいなぁ。
