What are you scared of the most?

※この記事は「Let's say challenging intead of difficult」の続きです

Charlie and I were at Tim Horttons sitting the seats next to each other and talking over each own's coffee.

For the readers who started reading this article first, Cahrlie is a guy who asked me keeping his seat in the crowded coffee shop, when I was struggling on my homework - translating Kenji Miyazawa's novel. We started talking after he comes back to the seat. This story is one of the things he asked me after the conversation.

"What are you scared of the most?"

This is the question he asked.

To be honest, what I am scared of the most in the world is frogs. I was grown in a rural side in Japan and they were everywhere during the summer time. Literally everywhere including ricefeeld, on the roads, on vending machines, windows and sometimes - it's like a nightmare for me- in my house.

Let's get back on track. I was a little smarter at that time so I can't remember why I responded that way, but this is the story.

"Oblivion"

He made a wondering face.

"Who I am today was made by people who have been surrounding me. Starating with my mom, dad, siblings, friends… If I forgot all the things, I can't express my gratitude to them. I would not be able to have conversation with strangers like you if I forget all the english words, which means I can't have precious experience any more. That is so sad."

"Interesting. I didn't expect the answer like that. That is so true."

I actually don't remember what he responded to my answer that much, but we kept talking for a while and he left.

When you are outside, keep your head up, open your mind, and enjoy what is happening out there.
There may be tips to start a conversation that will remain in your mind for long.
