The 6th of February is celebrated as Muaythai Day, both in Thailand and around the world. This is the day that Muaythai practitioners around the world pay homage to Sanphet VIII or Suriyenthrathibodi. In Thailand, his accession to the throne is also celebrated. Suriyenthrathibodi and the 29th King of Krung Sri Ayutthaya, he was also known by the noble title he held before ascending the throne, Luang Sorasak (Thai: หลวงสร ศักดิ์). He was also called by the Thai people as Phra Chao Suea (Thai: พระเจ้า เสือ, Meaning: "Tiger King").
