While we were enjoying skiing, we strolled through the streets of Zermatt. It had strict regulations on vehicles to prevent air pollution. It did not allow combustion-engine ones. We only saw electric ones or horse carts in the town. It was a surprisingly advanced work thirty-five years ago.
     The combustion-engine-free town was another world. It made us forget the bustle of the city and covered us in silence. We often used them to move to train or gondola stations from our hotel. They were very comfortable.
     We shopped around for souvenirs. After wavering, we chose cheese for the witnesses at our wedding party. We found so many kinds of cheese at a cheese shop to buy them one after another.
     On our last day in Zermatt, we had meat fondue for dinner with other tour members and the tour guide and took a night train for Paris, France.

　スキーも楽しみましたが、ツェルマットの街も散策しました。ツェルマットはこの当時から自然環境を守るためガソリン車の立ち入りを禁止していました。街に入れるのは電気自動車と馬車のみでした。約35年前としては、驚くべき先進的な取り組みでした。
　電気自動車と馬車のみの世界は別世界でした。街は、車の喧噪から離れた静けさに包まれていました。ホテルからスキーのために電車やゴンドラの乗り場に移動する際に電気自動車を利用しましたが快適でした。
　みやげを買うために店をはしごしました。色々迷いましたが、仲人さんにはチーズにしました。チーズショップの立ち寄ったところ、多種多様なチーズがあったので片っ端から買って帰りました。
　ツェルマット滞在の最終日は、ツアーメンバー全員やガイドさんと、夕食にミートフォンデュを食べ、夜行列車でパリに向かいました。
