On the wall of my room are the cards of paintings by Giuseppe Arcimboldo, an Italian painter. I bought them when I visited his exhibition at the National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo in 2017. I put them on the wall with a double-sticky tape. It has been about seven years since they were put on the wall, and they have never fallen off it.
I do not stare at them every day, but they come into my sight every day. They always make me feel how interesting they are and have never tired me. They have impressed me with the fact that he created the portrait heads with objects such as vegetables, fruits and flowers. At the same time, I always wonder what inspired him to create them. Nor can I put into words what it is about the portraits that attracts me. Nevertheless, they have never tired me. They are like the film Apocalypse Now by Francis Ford Coppola. The film is about a river journey during the Vietnam War. It did not have a specific point, scene by scene, but it left me fully satisfied after watching the film. And it made me think about what it was trying to tell me. This is exactly what has been in my mind when I see Arcimboldo's portrait heads. Probably, I will get no clear answer about it even if I continue to see them. But I will never stop seeing them.
I did not have enough time to enjoy art before I joined the online blog site note. I am still a novice at art, and I am very bad at saying what it is about art that impresses me. But since I joined the site, I am getting more and more interested in and enjoy art. It enables me to see and learn a lot about art. 　ボクの書斎の壁には、イタリアの画家ジュゼッペ・アルチンボルドの絵のカードが飾られています。2017年に東京の国立西洋美術館で開催された彼の展覧会を訪れた際に購入したものです。両面テープで壁に貼り、それから7年ほどになりますがた、一度も落ちたことがありません。
　毎日、じっと眺めているわけではありませんが、毎日、目に入ります。見るたびに、その面白さを感じるし、飽きることはありません。野菜や果物、花などのオブジェでつくられた肖像画の頭部に関心しています。と同時に、何がきっかけで、アルチンボルトはこの作品を作ったのだろうといつも不思議に思います。ボクがこれらの肖像画のどこに惹かれるのかについて言葉にできませんが、決して飽きることはありません。まるでフランシス・フォード・コッポラの映画『地獄の黙示録』のようです。ベトナム戦争中の川の旅を描いた映画ですが、シーンごとには、特筆すべき点があるわけではありません。でも、見終わった後に十分な満足感を味わえます。同時に、この映画が何を言いたいのかを考えさせられます。これこそが、アルチンボルドの肖像画を見たときにボクの心に抱くことです。おそらく、見続けても明確な答えは出ないでしょう。でも、見ることをやめることはありません。
　noteというブログ・サイトに参加するまでは、アートを楽しむ十分な時間がありませんでした。また、ボクはアートについてはいまだに素人だし、アートについて語るのも下手です。でも、noteに参加してから、ますますアートに興味を持ち、楽しめるようになりました。noteのおかげで、アートについて多くのことを見たり学んだりすることができます。アートに関する記事を投稿してくれた「note」の皆さんに感謝です。
