Greetings, Alexei!

I think it is great that Poland or Alexei will get three weeks' vacation. Japan usually 6 days' vacation. Japanese habit is to work a long time and not like get a holiday, expressly old(age 50) men.

I have two weeks' vacation. I will enjoy a hot spa in Atami for two days and cheer Hakone-Ekiden another day. I won't forget "Hatumode". That is going to the shrine at 1. January. Other days are reading books, writing reports, running, and Yoga.

I like to drink too much coffee. I drink it now, too. Caffeine is bad for physical and mental health but experts and books say 3 to 4 cups of coffee is good.

It is said Japanese food is good for health. The basics of them are rice, vegetables, fish, and beans. But the Japanese like white bread and processed meats and “junk food”, too.

I look forward to your next advice.
Best wishes,
Nahoko

Good writing and punctuation! One thing to remember is that dates are usually said like: “It is on January 1st.” So, for one thing, the preposition on goes with a specific date (Jan.1st), and also dates usually use ordinal numbers (e.g. 1st, 2nd, 3rd). Prepositions with dates can be confusing because they are different for months, days, years, etc. You would say “On Jan.1st,” “In July,” “In 2023,” and “On Wednesday.”

Besides that, however, generally good grammar! 😊

Greetings, Nahoko, and thanks for telling me a bit about your holiday period. Atami sounds like a nice, relaxing time! It’s important to be able to relax and “recharge your battery” in this way. Three weeks seems like a very long time, to me, and so far, I have done work the entire time! For example, I am still doing my NEW Eikaiwa job (because it seems to me that I can easily do it during holidays). I am also using the time to create a better work strategy—so I can “work smarter, not harder” in 2023. This is a common business slogan, which you may have heard before. But, so, I think I may also be a "workaholic," like these older men that you described.

Did you ever make a new year's resolution? Some people, for example, make a promise to themselves they will quit smoking or drinking alcohol (or they will maybe exercise more). I actually used to smoke, many years ago, and I quit because it was my new year’s resolution in 2010. So, sometimes they are effective! 😊 My resolution this year is to make my work smarter, but also to improve my diet (I like the Japanese diet—more vegetables and healthy ingredients), and (especially) to improve my sleeping habits. I also drink too much coffee and often I can’t sleep until 2:00am… 😐 I need to change this in order to improve my efficiency and energy.

Okay, I will draw this entry to a close. Take care, and talk to you soon.

Warm regards,
Alexei
