My experiences in NZ #1

Hello, there.

Today, I'd love to start sharing my experiences in NZ.
What should I start with?

What brought me to NZ?

As I wrote in my previous post, I used to work at a hotel and was keen to work at a hotel abroad then.
There were three choices, Australia, Canada, and NZ then.
However, they have twenty-nine choices now.
Holy cow!

Considering which country I should choose, there are some reasons.
The first reason is that I was familiar with NZ because we had exchange students from that country in my senior high days.
Furthermore, I stood as a candidate for their host family, but I was unsuccessful because my place was far from the school; it took one and a half hours one way.
From this experience, I might have kind envy.

Next, when commuting by train, I sometimes saw a foreigner who used the same station as mine, and I talked to him confidently.
And then, I realized he was from NZ and lived nearby.
Moreover, he ran an English school and served to study abroad, and luckily he volunteered to arrange to go to NZ for me; he helped me to apply for a working holiday visa and introduced me to a language school in Auckland, NZ.

Although people with a working holiday visa could stay in that country for one year, my parents refused to leave home for one year; their compromise was less than six months.

I applied for a language school for two weeks, and an accommodation, I mean a host family, was arranged by a school.

That’s all for today, and to be next time.
See you around.
