My experiences in NZ #6

Hello, there.
I’d love to continue from where I ended last time.

My second day in NZ

Since I was exhausted after a long trip, I went to bed early.

On the next day, on Saturday, March 7th, 1998, I got a phone call from an SQ clue who talked with and exchanged phone numbers with each other on the plane, and he invited me for lunch and asked me if we met up at the hotel lobby where they were staying at, and then I asked my host mother about that.
She suggested I drive you to the hotel they were staying at.

On the way to the hotel, she showed me the bus stop I’d use from the next day and explained how to get a bus and how to get to the school.

During driving, I discovered something I’d never seen before.
It was a “roundabout” instead of a traffic light.
I heard about some roundabouts in Japan recently, but unfortunately, I’ve not seen them in Japan yet.

It was about fifteen minutes from my host family’s place to my school.
After that, she drove me and dropped me off near the hotel.

That’s why he suggested I meet him at his hotel because I was a stranger then and thought the hotel was easy to find, just in case.
Thanks to his suggestion, we could meet up with no problems.

He recommended me to go on a short trip together to the Devonport by a ferry, he explained that it takes about fifteen minutes one way, and I accepted his plan; although I was a person to get seasick quickly, I thought it would be OK if it took only a few minutes like that.

On a ferry, I tried not to see downward to avoid seasickness, and finally, we landed the Devonport.

He guided and showed me Auckland City and the Sky Tower, known as the Auckland symbol from there.
I was impressed by these beautiful sceneries and excited that my new life started there.
We had lunch together, but I don’t remember what we had then.

After exploring there, we returned to Auckland city and said goodbye before getting dark outside, and then I went back to my homestay by taxi.

That’s all for today, and to be next time.
See you around.
