書聖と称される中国の書家、王羲之の作品「蘭亭序」の一節です。逸話によると、王羲之はこれを酒に酔いながら書き、後日あらためて清書しようとしたけれど初稿を越えるものは書けなかったとか。

俯察品類之盛
所以遊目騁懷
足以極視聽之娯
