『名物裂』として名の知れる『二重蔓牡丹』。本当に良いもの、本当にすごいもの。日本にはそんな宝の様なものが沢山あるのではないでしょうか。

しかし多くのそれらは現代の私達にとって馴染みのない物になりつつある・・・文化もアートも出会えなければ知ることが出来ない、触れなければ魅力も分からない。

私が桐生織物という織物で制作活動を続けていく中で生み出したい事。それは、
「出会うこと」
「知ること」
そして本当に良いもの・すごいものを実際に手にして頂き、
「体験すること」

良いものに触れ、感動し、幸せな気持ちが生まれ、心豊かになれたならば・・・

それには、作り手の「心」が要にもなってきますが、
そのお話はまた後日。

文章を書くことは得意ではありませんが、日本に残る良いものを発信する事で「残してゆきたい」の思いと共に始めさせて頂きます。

The "Futaedurubotan" translates as "Double Peony” and is widely acknowledged as one of the preeminent Meibutsugire (Tea Ceremony Fabrics), and represents a renowned Japanese specialty textile. Japan is blessed with numerous treasures of this nature, contributing to its cultural and artistic opulence.

However, many of these are becoming unfamiliar to us in the context of modern times... Culture and art alike remain unknown unless encountered; their allure remains concealed until experienced firsthand.

As I continue my creative pursuits with Kiryu textiles, there is something special I aspire to achieve as an artist. To facilitate "encounters," foster "familiarity," and allow individuals to actually hold and "experience" items that are genuinely exceptional and remarkable.

And if one comes into contact with exceptional items, I hope they can be moved, experience happiness, and have their spirit enriched.

To achieve this, the essential role of the creator's "sentiments" comes into play; however, a detailed exploration of this aspect will be deferred to a subsequent explanation.

Though I may not excel in crafting prose, I embark on this mission fueled by a sincere aspiration to reveal Japan's invaluable textile treasures. My aim in initiating this effort is to safeguard and pass down these treasures for future generations inside and outside of Japan.
