高野山の壇上伽藍の金堂には本尊の薬師如来像の左右に、胎蔵曼荼羅と金剛界曼荼羅の二幅一対の両部曼荼羅図が掛けられている。その両部曼陀羅は、日本密教の中心となる仏である大日如来の説く真理や悟りの境地、つまり弘法大師・空海が創造した真言密教の奥義を視覚的に表現したものである。

In the Kondo of Koyasan, the hall of the temple, there is a pair of bipartite mandalas, a Taizo mandala and a Kongo Kai mandala, to the left and right of the main statue of Yakushi Nyorai. Both parts of the mandala are visual representations of the mystery of the Shingon esoteric Buddhism created by Kobo Daishi Kukai, which is the state of truth and enlightenment taught by Dainichi Nyorai, the central Buddhist esoteric Buddhism of Japan.

薄暗い金堂内でじっくり拝見させていただいたが、前日まで霊宝館で公開されていた「血曼荼羅」は、残念ながら見ることは叶わなかった。血曼荼羅とは、平家の大将、平清盛が、自らの額から出た血を絵具に混ぜ込み、胎蔵曼荼羅の中心にある大日如来像の宝冠部分に塗ったことから血曼陀羅といわれるようになった。正式名は「絹本著色両界曼荼羅図」という。

I thoroughly watched it in the dimly lit Kondo, but unfortunately I couldn't see the "Blood Mandala" that had been open to the public until the day before. The blood mandala is said to be blood mandala because the Heike general, Kiyomori Taira, mixed the blood from his forehead with the paint and applied it to the crown of the Dainichi Nyorai statue in the center of the Taizo mandala, became. The formal name is "Keipon Chakushoku Ryo kai Mandala".

この両部曼陀羅図に関心を寄せ、般若心経と組み合わせた独自の曼陀羅絵図を描いているが、あくまでも真似ごとに過ぎない。しかしながら、なにも無い時空へたどり着く一筆になれば、と。

I am interested in these two-part mandala drawings, and I draw my own mandala pictures that are combined with the Hannya Sutra, but this is just an imitation. However, if it becomes one stroke to reach a space-time where there is nothing.
