いまホットな場所として注目されている淡路島。関西からはもちろんだが、関東からの移住者が増えている。それは、言わずと知れた自然の宝庫だからである。海、山、そして青い空が身近な存在として生活に息づいている。そんなアイランドに夢を求めてやってくる。

Awaji Island is attracting attention as a hot spot now. The number of immigrants from Kanto area is increasing, not to mention from Kansai. It is because it is a well-known treasure trove of nature. The sea, mountains, and the blue sky are alive and well in our daily lives. I come to such an island in search of a dream.

新しい風が吹き始めている淡路島に、さらに追風になる兵庫・徳島の共有の自然財産である「渦潮」が世界自然遺産の登録に向け動いている。兵庫県としても夢のアイランド構想がより促進される。

On Awaji Island, where a new wind is beginning to blow, the whirlpool, which is a shared natural property of Hyogo and Tokushima, is moving toward registration as a World Natural Heritage Site. Hyogo Prefecture will further promote the dream island concept.

そんな中で、身近で嬉しいトピックを耳にした。
ご近所さんで、令和一年度の西宮市民文化賞を受賞された画家、伊藤弘之さんの絵画3点(200号・100号/写真)が、新築された兵庫県洲本総合庁舎(淡路県民局)ビルに寄贈されることになった。県としても世界自然遺産登録への促進剤につなげたい狙いがあるようだ。この絵画「渦潮」が南あわじ地域のシンボルになっていくはずである。
そして、世界に類をみない渦潮が世界自然遺産に認定されることを心より願っている。
