ダウン症の書家として活躍する金澤翔子さん。
どの書をみても迫力みなぎる力強さが翔子さんの書の特徴だ。
数々の個展や寺院、美術館等で席上揮毫や奉納揮毫などで多くの作品を世に出し続けている。

Shoko Kanazawa who is active as a calligrapher with Down syndrome. The characteristic of Shoko's calligraphy is that it is powerful enough to look at any calligraphy. She continues to produce many works in numerous solo exhibitions, temples, museums, etc., such as Calligraphy for dedication.

先日の京都散策で訪ねた建仁寺で、翔子さんの奉納揮毫した屏風2作品が飾られていた。一つは俵屋宗達の「風神雷神」、そしていま一つは「拈華微笑(ねんげみしょう)」。ともに翔子さんの独特の力強さが伝わる書である。

At Kennin-ji Temple, which I visited during my walk in Kyoto the other day, two folding screens dedicated by Shoko-san were displayed.
One is Tawaraya Sotatsu's "Fujin Raijin", and the other is "Nengemisho".

風神雷神書は、構図が実物の屏風を連想させ、まさに風神と雷神が天を飛翔しているかのような躍動感を感じる。

Both are calligraphy that convey Shoko's unique strength. The composition of the Fujin Raijin calligraphy is reminiscent of a real folding screen, and you can feel the dynamism as if the wind god and the thunder god were flying in the heavens. 

一方、拈華微笑は、お釈迦さんが一人の弟子に仏法の奥義を授けるときの精神性の高揚を、この大迫力で表現しているかのようである。

On the other hand, Nengemisho seems to express the uplifting spirituality of Buddhism when Shaka bestows the mystery of Buddhism on a disciple with this great power.
