11月からJCファイナンスでインターンをしている加藤日向子です！
3月までの4か月間カンボジアのマイクロファイナンス機関で働かせていただきます。

▷自己紹介

所属：東京外国語大学国際社会学部3年
訪れた国：オーストラリア・タイ・台湾・韓国・フィリピン・カナダ・メキシコ・アメリカ・カンボジア
趣味：世界の料理を食べること・散歩・ジム・スタジオレッスン！（ボクシング・ステップ・ダンス・パワー系…）

▷参加理由

2021年は大学三年の後期から1年間休学し、バンクーバーのインターナショナルカレッジででビジネスマネジメントを学ぶと同時に日系旅行会社等で就労経験をしていました。クラスメートの中にはすでに社会人でビジネス経験豊富な方や南米の政府関連の仕事を経験した方などいらっしゃり、考えることのレベルの違いに日々圧倒されていました…旅行会社では主に、オフィスで電話対応をしたり、日本のテレビ局さんが北米に撮影に来る際の遠隔サポートしたりしていました。
そこで思ったのが、「なんか学校にはすごいビジネス知ってる人たちに囲まれて自分はちっぽけやなあ。自分の旅行会社の仕事は正直あんまり興味ないし、業務的には頑張れば誰にでもできそう。もっと自分が興味のあるフィールドでスピード感もっていろんな経験がしたかったんだけどな」
ということで8月に帰国して早々、2年目の休学を決意しカンボジアの金融機関でインターンに挑むこと決めました。自分の大学の専攻はカンボジア関係と金融関係なので、JCファイナンスは自分の知識を経験に生かし強化することのできる唯一の場所だと考えています。
ここでのインターン経験を通して、ただ経験を重ねるだけでなく知識やスキル・キャパを広げて日本に帰りたいです！

▷カンボジアと私

ぶっちゃけ大学生になるまで関わりはないです。実際に現在カンボジアで金融にかかわる仕事に携われるなんて夢にも思っていませんでした。
経緯は、大学受験の際どうしても外大に入りたくて興味のあった東南アジア枠で受験したところ、結果的に配属されたのがカンボジア専攻でした（笑）今まで貧困や新興国の暮らしや経済に興味があったので、結果的にはカンボジア専攻でよかったと思っています。コロナのせいでカンボジアには一度もこれていなかったので、今回こうして現地でお仕事までできて嬉しい限りです。
実際に少し暮らしてみて、やっぱりカンボジア料理は日本人の舌に合う味で美味しいです！今のところほぼ毎日カンボジア料理食べていて全部ナイスでした（魚料理系、スープ系、野菜炒め系、お肉系）。辛いのが好きな人にはかなり物足りないかもですけど、本当に日本で食べたことのあるあの優しい味に近いです！
東京には代々木と町田くらいにしかカンボジア料理店がないので、これから現地でカンボジア料理をコンプリートしていきたいです♪

Hello, ជំរាបសួរ
My name is Hinako, working at JC Finance since November as an intern. I will engage in this microfinance institution for 4 months until March.

-Introduction-

I am a junior at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in Japan. My major is International and Area Studies (Mainly Cambodia and Finance). I have been to Australia, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, Canada, Mexico, and the US before. I like to try eating food from each country around the world. At the same time, I work out at the gym and attend fitness classes where I do fit boxing, step, dance, Zumba, power training, and so on.
-The reason why I join JC Finance as an intern-
Back in 2021, I studied International Business and Management at the International College in Vancouver, Canada during my 1-year off from University in Japan. There were a lot of students who had already had some business experience or working experience related to their government in their nation. I always felt like I knew almost nothing about business and there was a big gap of experience, knowledge, and ideas between me and them. 
 I also work for some companies including a Japanese travel company in Vancouver. At the travel company, I was mainly in charge of contacting our stakeholders such as customers, business partners, and government institutions. I sometimes supported customers from the office like getting permission from the government, claiming insurance, and clearing customs when Japanese TV creators came to film in North America, for instance.
What I recognized there was that I was just like the frog in the well who knows nothing of a great ocean. I was not actually interested in the field where I engage in the travel company in Canada and realized that anyone who spoke both Japanese and English could work in that office. What I really want to experience is not like that but like challenging many difficulties in the field where I feel something attractive with good speed. To evolve from the frog I needed to encounter a new challenging situation, I concluded.
So what I did after coming back to Japan in August 2022 is to have one more year off from my University and apply for this internship program. Because my major at my Uni is Finance and Cambodia, JC Finance as a microfinance institution in Cambodia is the best company where I can apply my current knowledge and develop my skills through the experience for the next four months. I will come home having grown a lot.

-Cambodia and myself-

To tell the truth, I have nothing to do with this small country in Southeast Asia. I had never expected that I would come to Cambodia to work at a Financial institution.
The reason why I got a relationship with Cambodia orខ្មែរ‌is just a coincidence. The story is; I really wanted to enter my current  university, so I applied for the Southeast Asia area as a major study area, which I was interested in to some extent, and as a result, I was accepted and assigned to the Cambodia major (lol). Because of the coronavirus, I had never visited Cambodia, so this time I am very happy to be able to work there.
Having actually lived here for a bit, I can tell you that Cambodian food tastes great and suits the Japanese palate! So far, I've eaten Cambodian food almost every day and everything was nice (fish dishes, soups, stir-fried vegetables, and meat dishes). If you like spicy food, you may be missing a lot, but it is pretty close to those gentle tastes I've had in Japan! There are only two Cambodian restaurants in Tokyo, one in Yoyogi and another in Machida, so I hope to complete tasting attractive Cambodian cuisine here.
 I'm sure the 4 months will fly by, but I'm looking forward to encountering new experiences in this new environment!
