8月12日から14日に群馬県館林市で写真展『ロヒンギャを忘れない – Remember the Rohingya –』を開催します。

長年ミャンマーで差別や迫害を受けてきたロヒンギャの人々が2017年8月の大弾圧で隣国バングラデシュに逃れ100万人規模の難民キャンプが形成された。悲劇から5年。改めて彼らに思いを馳せる機会になれば幸いです。
　
日本最大のロヒンギャコミュニティの在る群馬県館林へは都心から電車で約1時間半の距離です。群馬県や近郊にお住まいの方をはじめ、多くの方のご来場をお待ちしております。会期中は毎日在廊いたします。

【プロフィール】
新畑克也　Katsuya Shimbata

1979年広島県呉市⽣まれ。東京都在住。2010年に初めて訪れたミャンマーに魅了され、同国へ幾度も通い、旅先での⼈々との出逢いを写真に収め始める。2015年より⻄部ラカイン州でロヒンギャの村を訪れたことをきっかけにロヒンギャやラカインの問題に関⼼を持つ。以降は主にラカイン州やバングラデシュの集落、難⺠キャンプで撮影を続けている。

A photo exhibition "Remember the Rohingya" will be held in Tatebayashi City, Gunma Prefecture from August 12 to 14.

Rohingya people, who have long suffered discrimination and persecution in Myanmar, fled to neighboring Bangladesh from a major crackdown in August 2017, forming a refugee camp of 1 million people. Five years have passed since the tragedy. I hope that this photo exhibition will provide an opportunity to think about them once again.
　
Tatebayashi in Gunma Prefecture, where the largest Rohingya community in Japan is located, is about 1.5 hours by train from central Tokyo. I look forward to welcoming visitors from Gunma Prefecture and the surrounding area.

+About Photographer
Katsuya Shimbata. Born in 1979 in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. In 2010, Visited Myanmar for the first time and was fascinated by the country, Has been taking photographs mainly in Rakhine State, villages and refugee camps in Bangladesh since then.
