The second part of the conversation video with porcelain lighting artist Hirotaka Tobimatsu, "kala talk#5 - Hirotaka Tobimatsu (Tobimatsu lantern) Part 2" has been released!

Continuing from the first part, we bring you a story about Tobimatsu-san and TK's production!

Lighting equipment affects the atmosphere in your home. Ceiling lights, which are now used in many households, are of the type that are attached to the ceiling and illuminate the entire room from a high position. On the other hand, hanging lampshades, which are being used by fewer households, can be combined to cover the amount of light while creating a soft space, and can be used as interior decoration to highlight the individuality of the resident. Mr. Hirotaka Tobimatsu, who will be speaking to us this time, focuses on the property of porcelain that allows light to pass through, and works as a porcelain lighting artist who creates lampshades made of porcelain clay with adjusted transparency. We will experience the craftsmanship of Tobimatsu, who aspired to become an artist from an early age and ended up in his current position.

家の中の雰囲気を左右する照明器具。現在、多くの世帯で使われているシーリングライトは、天井に張り付けるような形で高い位置から部屋全体を明るく照らしてくれるタイプのもの。一方、使用している世帯は少なくなった、ぶら下げ型のランプシェードは、組み合わせることで光量をカバーしつつ柔らかい空間を演出し、インテリアとして住む人の個性を際立たせてくれる。今回お話を聞かせてくれる飛松弘隆さんは、光を通す磁器の性質に着目し、透過性を調整した磁土によるランプシェードを製作する磁器照明作家として活動している。幼い頃から芸術家としての道を目指し、現在の職に行き着いた飛松さんのクラフトマンシップに触れる。
