The Ibusuki Nanohana Marathon is the earliest marathon event of the year. All citizens will come out to cheer on the runners along the route and treat runners to food such as zenzai (red bean paste) and puffed sweet potatoes.
指宿菜の花マラソンは、一年で一番早いマラソン大会です。沿道では市民総出でランナーを応援し、ぜんざいやサツマイモなどの食べ物をランナーに振る舞う。
