僕の作品はほとんど映像にすることができないけど、それでもいくつかは映像版が出ている。

でも僕は映像畑の人間ではないし、違うメディアで同じものを作るのはそもそも不可能だから、餅は餅屋ということで、いつも「内容はどう変えてもいいですよ」と伝えている。小説は命懸けで書いているけれど、映像版には何のこだわりもないし、もっといえば全くの別作品なので。なんなら脚本が送られてきても、「OKです」なんて言いながら、じつはほとんど読んだことさえない。

だから今回の件は、どうして原作者がそこまで追い詰められてしまったのか上手く理解できずにいたのだけど、この記事を見てようやく納得した。

未完の作品が映像になった経験がないものだから、完全にこの視点が抜け落ちていた。
