六本木のペロタン東京で開催中のエミリー・メイ・スミス『AVALON』。

エミリー・メイ・スミス（EMILY MAE SMITH）は1979年テキサス州生まれの女性アーティスト。ちなみに日本での個展は初だそう。

キャリア20年以上のベテランアーティストですが、自身のアートがはっきり見えてきたのは2013年頃とのこと。空手家の大山倍達は晩年になっても「拳の握り方がわからない」と言っていたように、あくなき探究心は最後まで答えを出さないこともあります。
（なんで空手で例えた？）

ちなみに公式サイトには長文のステートメントが掲載されているわけですが、何度も読んでもうまく解釈できないので、ご自身でお読みください笑

そういえば一番奥に加藤泉氏の作品があって棚ぼた。

Emily Mae Smith is a female artist born in Texas in 1979. By the way, this is the first solo exhibition in Japan.

Although it is a veteran artist with more than 20 years of career, it was around 2013 that his style was clearly visible. As Karate Masa Oyama said, “I don't know how to hold a fist” until I die, it seems that the endless pursuit of inquiries may not be answered until the end.
