四線倶楽部の“室内楽”、四線で奏でるクラシックの名曲第六弾は、シューベルトの『アヴェ・マリア』。
世界的にも有名なこの歌曲は、ウォルター・スコットの叙事詩「湖上の美人」のドイツ語訳にシューベルトが曲を付けた《エレンの歌 第3番》が原曲。後年その旋律にカトリックのラテン語の典礼文を載せ歌われるようになり、『アヴェ・マリア』としても広く知られるように。
今回、四線倶楽部ではこのラテン語バージョンを、優雅に響くハワイのウクレレ、厳粛な雰囲気を湛えたヴァイオリン、ヴィオラ、チェロの三重奏、そして三線由来の沖縄の新たな楽器“四線”の澄んだ音色に乗せ再現。洋の東西を越え“四弦楽器”が聖母を讃え祝歌を謳い奏でます。
The 6th tune of "Yonshin Club -The Chamber Music-" is "Ave Maria" by Franz Schubert.
He originally composed this song (D. 839, Op. 52, No. 6) called "Ellens Gesang III" from Walter Scott's popular epic poem "The Lady of the Lake" translated into German.
In later years, from the idea of adapting the text of the traditional Roman Catholic prayer "Ave Maria" to Schubert's melody, the Latin version is now so frequently used and recorded by a wide variety and large number of singers under the title of "Ave Maria".
Now we play this hymn by Okinawan-Japanese new music instrument "Yonshin", Hawaiian ukulele and the classical strings trio (violin, viola and cello).
