静岡で今川家に関連する場所を訪れていましたが、今回ついに東京へ！

前から行ってみたかった、杉並区今川2丁目。　情緒ある地区、静寂かつ洗練された寺院でした。雅な雰囲気に「今川家はきっとこのようなイメージだったのだな」と感じました。

Kansenji Temple Part 1

観泉寺パート１

Kansenji Temple is located in the second district of Imagawa, Suginami Ward, Tokyo.

観泉寺は東京都杉並区今川2丁目にあります。

This temple was established by Imagawa Ujizane in 1597.

この寺院は1597年、今川氏真により開かれました。

At that time, it was called ‘Kannonji Temple’.

その当時は「観音寺」と呼ばれていました。

In another context, I‘d like to explain what happened to Imagawa Ujizane after he lost his territory.

別のコンテンツで領地を失った後、今川氏真に何が起きたのかを説明したいと思います。

When Tokugawa Ieyasu moved to Edo in 1590, Imagawa Ujizane also moved there.

徳川家康が1590年に江戸に移った時、今川氏真も移りました。

He was granted his residential place in Shinagawa, Edo, by Tokugawa Ieyasu around 1596.

1596年ごろ徳川家康より江戸の品川に宅地を与えられました。

Imagawa Ujizane passed away in 1614, and his grandson, Naofusa, succeeded him as the head of the Imagawa family.

今川氏真が1614年に亡くなり、孫の直房が跡を継ぎ今川家の当主となりました。

Imagawa Naofusa was appointed to an important position called ‘koke’, Master of Ceremonies.

今川直房は「高家」と呼ばれる重要な役職に就任しました。

When the Edo feudal government sent a message to the Imperial Court, the koke was responsible for delivering this message, and vice versa.

江戸幕府が朝廷に連絡を送る時に窓口となり、逆もまたそうでした。

The koke acted as a bridge to connect Edo and Kyoto.

高家は江戸と京都をつなぐ架け橋・仲介人としての役割を果たしていました。

Koke’s role could be done by certain samurai who were familiar with noble culture because there were many traditional customs unique to noblemen.

公家独特の文化があるため、高家の役割は公家文化に精通した確かな武士でなければ務まりませんでした。

Undeniably, the Imagawa family was the most suitable choice for the position called' koke'.

間違いなく、今川家は高家と呼ばれる役職に最もふさわしい選択でした。
