令和の時代に高札が札ノ辻近くに立てられます。

Kosatsu in the Fudano-tsuji intersection Part1

札ノ辻の高札　パート１

‘Kosatsu’ is a public bulletin board where important official rules were announced by officials since ancient times.

「高札」は古代より重要な公的規則がお上より発表された公の掲示板です。

Information on this board clarified the rules and punishments for citizens.

この掲示板の情報によって規則と罰則が人々に明らかになりました。

The bulletin boards or kosatsu also encouraged people to accuse hidden criminals and Christians, especially during the Edo period.

特に江戸時代には、高札により人々が隠れている犯罪者やキリスト教徒を告発することが推奨されました。

In the city of Sumpu, these bulletin boards were installed in an intersection called Fudano-tsuji.

駿府のまちでは、これらの掲示板が札ノ辻に設置されました。

This location was near the border between the samurai’s area and the commoners’ one, and it had so many passers-by during the Edo period.

この場所は武家地と町人地の境目に近く、江戸時代には多くの通行人がいました。

In addition, they could observe the majestic Sumpu Castle over the ‘kosatsu’ as its backdrop, so this place was ideal for showing off the rulers’ power.

しかも、彼らは高札の背景に、堂々たる駿府城をじっくり見ていたことでしょう。ですからこの場所は為政者の勢力を見せつけるのにうってつけでした。

Currently, a local association called ‘I LOVE Shizuoka association’ is planning to reestablish the kosatsu in the Fudano-tsuji intersection, just like in the Edo period.

最近、地元の「I LOVE しずおか協議会」が札ノ辻の交差点に江戸時代のように高札を建てようと計画しています。

This association is comprised of local business entities and residents who want to revitalize the central area of the Aoi ward.

この協議会は地元のビジネス団体と住民から成り、葵区中心部の活性化を目的としています。

The reproduced Edo period-style kosatsu will be presented through an unveiling ceremony near the Fudano-tsuji intersection on March 25, 2023.

江戸時代スタイルの再現された高札が3月25日、札ノ辻近くにて除幕式でお披露目されます。
