小さな娘が大きな声で泣いていました。
いつまでもいつまでも泣き続けるのでした。

村人たちが心配そうに声をかけます。
「ねえ、どうして泣いているの？」

しゃくりあげながら、娘がこたえます。
「だって、みんな、かわいそうだから････」

村人たちは顔を見合わせました。
そよ風に稲穂の波がゆれます。

「なにがかわいそうなの？」

ますます大きな声で娘は泣くのでした。
「だって････」

はなをすすりながら言うのです。
「あたいが泣いてばかりいるから････」

案山子みたいな顔の村人たちに見守られ　
娘はいつまでも、ただ泣くばかり。
　

A Crying Girl

A small girl was crying loudly.
She kept crying forever for ever.

The villagers call her anxiously.
"Hey, why are you crying?"

While heave with sobs, the little girl answered.
"Because, everyone is sorry."

The villagers looked at each other.
The wave of rice earrings shakes in a gentle breeze.

"What is sorry?"

The girl cried with increasingly loud voice.
"Because ..."

She says to sniff.
"Because I'm only crying ..."

It is watched by the villagers who look like scarecrow,
the girl just keeps crying forever.
