広い道に出た。
曲がりくねって先が見えない。

すっかり道に迷ってしまった。

道は相変わらず曲がりながら延びている。
たまにクルマが通り過ぎる。

いい加減歩き疲れたので
僕はヒッチハイクをすることにした。

手を上げる。
止まってくれない。

足の裏が痛くなってきた。

道端に座り込み、長靴を脱いでみた。
靴下も脱ぐ。

痛いはずだ。
足の裏がマメだらけだ。

数えてみたら、両足合わせて13個もある。

どうしようもない。
そのまま道端に寝転ぶ。

うとうとしていたら、声がした。

かたわらにトラックが止まっていた。

そのため足だけでなく、
尻まで痛くなってしまった。

日は傾き、ひどく空腹だった。
なのに売店も畑も見当たらない。

そもそも、ここはどこなんだろう。

まだ道は続いている。

こんな感じで適当に曲がりながら　
どこまでも続いているような気がする。

歩いている理由を
そのうち忘れてしまうくらい、どこまでも。

Road That Goes on Forever
