水晶池には、奇妙な伝説があっての。

昔、ある坊さんが村にやってきて　
山を掘って水晶の塊を見つけたそうじゃ。

それを坊さんは素手で磨いて　
十年かけて水晶の玉にしたんじゃと。

それは見事な玉であったそうじゃ。

しかも、この玉をじっと覗くと　
人の心が透けて見えたという。

やがて、坊さんは気がふれてしまっての。
あわれ、山の池に入水じゃ。

水晶玉を抱いたままでの。

この坊さん、白蛇になったとか　
いかにもそれっぽく言われとるな。

水晶玉は池に沈んだまま　
いくら捜しても見つからん。

潜る者、ことごとく気がふれおる。
見つげられんのじゃ。

以来、この池を水晶池と呼んでおる。

よくわからん話じゃ。
どんなもんが透けて見えたのやら。
