日本の天皇は平和の象徴だ。 国益のために外交的手段として利用されてはならない。
太平洋戦争はその失敗の例だった。
天皇の今回のインドネシア訪問は平和に向けた肯定的な姿だ。 インドネシアを含む東南アジアに戦争による傷を治癒し、無謀な戦争が再発しないための訪問だと信じている。
平成天皇をはじめ現天皇は戦争を望まず、切に平和のために努力してきた。
この平和の象徴である天皇が韓国を訪問することになれば、その意味は何倍も大きくなるだろう。
もちろん、韓国内ではまだ過去に対して痛烈な反省がない日本政府の批判が存在するが、雰囲気はかなり弱まり、このような時点こそ天皇の訪問を通じて絡み合っている韓日歴史の反感を後にして両国が未来志向的に進む時だと思う。
平和を主張し、韓国歴史の痛みを示せば、十分に韓半島の雰囲気は肯定的に流れるだろう。
日本の長い韓国統治に対して、韓国民の痛い歴史が癒されるし二度と戦争は起こらないし、堅固な同盟国であることを強調する必要がある。 いまだに軍国主義に対する憂慮が今回のインドネシア訪問時にもあった。 軍備拡張を急ぐ日本に対して懸念の視線もあるのは事実だ。 韓国内でも警戒の声は常に存在する。
このような時、天皇の東南アジア訪問が平和に向けた非常に肯定的なシグナルであるように、韓国訪問も大きな効果を見せることができるだろう。
現実的な課題が多く、これまで考えられなかった状況で、両国政府は特に日本政府は積極的に天皇の意見を聞いて天皇の役割に貢献しなければならない。 天皇は政治的イシューで韓国訪問を考慮できなかったなら、今は積極的に皇室の動きがなければならない。
最も近い隣人であり、歴史的に交流の多かった国との往来が不可能だということ自体が悲しいことだ。 特に韓国は、北朝鮮との断絶というもう一つの痛い歴史を持っている。 天皇の訪問は平和の象徴であり、対立している韓国と北朝鮮の間にも平和ムードを作り出す触媒になりうる。 それだけ南北統一ほど難しいのが天皇の韓国訪問だ。
このため天皇の韓国訪問は、世界歴史の大きな流れを変える良い契機になるだろう。
