中森しのぶは、三重県の上野高校の1年生だ。 美しい容姿と優秀な成績、そして身体能力の高さで、多くのクラスメートから羨望の的だった。 しかし、クラスの男子たちが知らない、ある秘密があった。

しのぶは、クラスの人気者なのに、なぜか、学校の授業がすべて終わると、真っすぐに家に帰った。クラスの男子たちは、「ちぇ、しのぶちゃんとデートしたいなあ。上野城の近くでお話したいなあ」と残念そうだった。

実は、しのぶにはある使命があった。伊賀市内の自宅に帰ると、しのぶは机の引き出しから、手裏剣を取り出し、的に向かって投げ始めた。

「うーん、今日は私、調子が悪いわね・・・」

そう、クラスの男子が知らなかった秘密・・・しのぶは、実は忍者の末裔だった。

しのぶの先祖は、戦国時代に伊賀国や甲賀国の領主に仕えた伝説の忍者だ。 彼らはスパイ活動、暗殺、ゲリラ戦の専門家でした。 やがて忍術は衰退し、中森家は素朴な農家になった。 しかし、しのぶは家族の遺産を復活させることを決意した。

ある日、高校の部活動を題材にしたテレビ番組を見ていると、しのぶはひらめいた。 彼女は上野高校で「忍者クラブ」を始めることができることに気づいた。 彼女は、それが古代の忍術の知識を保存し、後世に伝える方法になるのではないかと考えた。

家の庭にある古い蔵に行ったしのぶは、奥深くに忍術の古文書があるのを見つけた。

「よし、これを上野高校のみんなに伝授すれば・・・忍者の復活よ！」

この考えに興奮したしのぶは、学校の校長室にクラブを始める許可を求めに行った。しかし、校長は笑い出した。

「しのぶさん、君は成績優秀なのに、なんてことを言うんだ。忍者なんて、過去の産物だよ。そんなこと言ってないで、勉強しなよ！」

校長は、現代社会に忍者の居場所はないと言って、彼女の考えを却下した。

しかし、しのぶはひるまなかった。 彼女は自分の手で問題を解決することを決心し、自分で「忍者クラブ」のメンバーを募集し始めた。彼女は学校中にポスターを貼り、朝礼でスピーチをた。 彼女は、規律、敏捷性、ステルスなど、忍術の美徳について話した。 彼女はまた、このクラブは格闘技だけでなく、忍者の歴史と文化についても学ぶことを強調した。

そんななか、歯を食いしばって忍術の訓練をこなしている部員がいた。服部慎二、同じクラスの男子だった。控え目な性格で、あまり意識したことがなかっので、こんなにも体力があるとは知らなかった。

二人で忍術の訓練をしていると、徐々に校内に興味を持つものが出てきて、忍者クラブに参加する生徒が現れた。

弓道部を辞めて忍者クラブへの参加を表明した、恥ずかしがり屋の内田智子。空手部を辞めて参加した少年、安藤宏。アクロバットが得意な少女・出口由香。慎二をふくめて、一緒に上野高校忍者クラブを結成した。

クラブは放課後、学校近くの廃墟で行った。 しのぶは、壁の登り方、手裏剣の投げ方、吹き矢の使い方など、忍術の基本を彼らに教えた。 彼女はまた、有名な伊賀と甲賀の戦い、さまざまな種類の忍者の武器や道具など、忍者の歴史と文化に関する知識を共有した。

クラブが成長するにつれて、彼らは学校の教師や他校の生徒から注目を集めるようになった。彼女は、上野高校忍者クラブが単なる趣味や流行にとどまらないことを知っていた。彼女には、彼女の先祖を敬い、貴重な文化遺産を保存する大いなる目的があった。

「うふふ・・・わくわくするわ！私たちこそ、本物の忍者よ！」

In fact, Shinobu has a mission. Upon returning to her home in Iga City, Shinobu took out her shuriken from her desk drawer and began throwing it at the target.

Shinobu's ancestors are legendary ninjas who served the feudal lords of Iga and Koga during the Warring States period. They were experts in espionage, assassinations, and guerrilla warfare. Eventually, ninjutsu declined and the Nakamori family became simple farmers. However, Shinobu is determined to revive her family legacy.

One day, Shinobu had an epiphany when she was watching a TV program about high school club activities. She realized she could start a "Ninja Club" at Ueno High School. She thought it might be a way to preserve ancient ninjutsu knowledge and pass it on to future generations.

Shinobu went to the old storehouse in the garden of her house and found an ancient document of ninjutsu deep inside.

"Okay, if I teach this to everyone at Ueno High School...the ninja will be revived!"

Excited by the idea, Shinobu went to the principal's office at the school to ask permission to start a club. But the principal laughed.

"Shinobu-san, what are you saying when you have excellent grades? Ninjas are a product of the past. Don't say that, study hard!" The principal said, ninjas have no place in modern society, and dismissed her idea.

But she didn't flinch. She decided to take her problem into her own hands, and she began recruiting members for the "Ninja Club" herself. She put up posters all over the school and gave a speech at the morning assembly. She talked about the virtues of ninjutsu, such as discipline, agility, and stealth. She also emphasized that the club is not only about martial arts, but also about the history and culture of ninja.

Most students ignored her, thinking she was just a weirdo, some kind of nerd, obsessed with ninja movies and video games. However, there were more than a dozen boys who liked this story. They were boys who thought of Shinobu as an idol.
