The 10th of February was a freezing day with snow. I was prepared for snow as I had heard the day before that it would snow the next day. As soon as I woke up, I opened the curtains, and it did not snow but rain. I thought the reports were wrong. But an hour later, the rain turned to snow. Snow was on the roofs, but not on the roads.
My wife went out working in boots in the cold. I, myself, chose to stay at home since it is dangerous to walk. Like always, I began working only with a hot water bottle without an air conditioner. But I could not beat the cold without the air conditioner. In addition to the hot water bottle, I put a portable warm pad on my back in the morning. So I could stand the cold until early in the evening. But as it was getting colder and colder with every minute, I could not bear the cold without the conditioner early evening.
At the same time, I began to heat a bath so that my wife could rush to it as soon as she came home. It got ready just the moment she opened the front door. As I imagined, she rushed to it. Bath is the best tool to warm up ourselves.

　2月10日は、雪が降って寒い一日でした。前日の天気予報で雪が降ると聞いていたので、心の準備はできていました。朝、目が覚めてすぐにカーテンを引くと、雪ではなく雨でした。これは、予報が外れたかと思ったのですが、1時間後には雨が雪に変わりました。家の屋根には雪が積もりましたが、道路に雪はありませんでした。
　妻は、寒い中、長靴をはいて仕事に向かいました。足の悪い僕は、日課のウオーキングを中止、家にこもりました。この日も、エアコンを使わず時、湯たんぽだけで過ごすつもりでしたが、この日の寒さは湯たんぽだけでは凌げませんでした。追加対策として、背中に使い捨てカイロを貼りました。これで、16時ごろまで過ごしたのですが、それから寒さが一段と増したので、エアコンなしではいられなくなりました。
　そして、妻がかえって来るのに備えて、お風呂を早めに沸かしました。ちょうど、妻が帰ってきたときに、お風呂が沸いたので妻はお風呂に直行しました。体を温めるにはお風呂が一番です。
