この季節になると
一輪一輪と枝を彩るかのように咲く花、白梅。
そして、香る紅梅。

In this season Hakubai, a flower that blooms as if to color each flower and branch.
And the fragrant red plum.

梅は中国の花、江南地域が原産地とされている。
その地で詠われた詩がいまの世にも継がれている。

Plum is a Chinese flower, and its origin is in the Gangnam region. The poems sung there have been passed down to the present world.

その詩は「一枝の春」。

The poem is "A branch of spring."
　　　　　　　　　　　 　　　　　　
折花逢驛使　
寄與隴頭人　
江南無所有　
聊贈一枝春　

ひと枝折って　駅使に託す
隴山（ロウザン）のふもとのあなたへ
江南に良きもの無し
ただあるは「一枝の春」、いま贈らん。

Fold a branch and entrust it to the station messenger
To you at the foot of Mt. Liupan
No good things in Gangnam However,
there is "Spring of a branch", don't give it now.

作者は、江南地域に住む陸凱(リクガイ)という人。
北方にいる友人のもとに、何か贈り物をしたいが、何もない。
そこで思いついたのが梅の花を折って、この詩とともに贈った。
それを「一枝の春」と表現した、といまに伝えられている。

The author is a person named Lu Kai who lives in the Gangnam area.
He wants to give something to a friend in the north, but nothing.
So he came up with the idea of folding a plum blossom and he presented it with this poem.
It is said that it was described as "a branch of spring".

そんな詩を想い浮かべながら、春の陽射しを心待ちに―
