街を歩いているといろんな光景に出くわす。
昨日、神戸三宮の路上片隅に腰をかけて一心不乱に絵筆を動かす人がいた。
遠目でどんな絵を描いているのかを覗き込むと、リアリティ溢れる細密画である。
題材はその方の前に広がるサンパルというショッピングセンターのビル。

As you walk around the city, You will come across various sights.
Yesterday, there was a person sitting in a corner of the street in Sannomiya, Kobe, and moving his paintbrush with all his might.
Looking into what kind of picture you are drawing from a distance, it is a miniature picture full of reality.
The theme is a shopping center building called Sanparu that spreads out in front of him.

タイミングを見計らい、声を掛けてみた。
直球質問になったが、この古ぼけたなんの変哲もないこのビルを？と。
「もうすぐ取り壊しになるんで」という返事が帰ってきた。
名刺代わりに出された一枚の絵画展の案内ハガキに、
神戸在住の画家、吉岡充さんという名前が書かれていた。

I tried to call out at the right timing. 
It was a straightforward question, but what about this old, unconventional building? When. I got a reply saying, "It will be demolished soon."
In the guide postcard of one painting exhibition issued instead of a business card, The name of Mitsuru Yoshioka, a painter living in Kobe, was written.

話を聞くと、吉岡さんの絵の題材がわかってきた。
「移りゆく風景を絵で後世に残したい」という。
20年近く県内各地を回り残したい風景を描いている。その作品集を出版されている。
茅葺の家や酒蔵、古い商店街など歴史や人々の営みが刻まれた建造物を鉛筆で繊細に記録。柔らかな色合いで仕上げ、温もりのある一冊に。

When I listened to the story, I came to understand the subject of Mr. Yoshioka's paintings.
"I want to preserve the changing landscape with pictures for posterity." It depicts a landscape that he wants to leave around the prefecture for nearly 20 years.
The collection of works has been published. A pencil is used to delicately record buildings with history and people's activities, such as thatched-roof houses, sake breweries, and old shopping streets. Finished in a soft color, it is a warm book.

街の移りゆく風景をてま暇かけて絵で記録していく。
しばらく吉岡さんを眺めていると、絵筆が弾むように動いている。
描く一瞬を楽しんでいるかのように見えた。

He will takes time to record the changing scenery of the city with pictures. When I was looking at Mr. Yoshioka for a while, the paintbrush was moving like a bounce. It seemed as if I was enjoying the moment to drew.
